LO3: Body Copy for Article

Trying to establish a career in music is becoming all the more difficult what with Wolf Alice and Alexandra Saviour dominating the female artist scene, however that doesn't stop Abby Betts who Is making a breakthrough, feisty as ever!

The young songstress is trying to prove the possibility of studying with the aim of studying Biomedical science at university which is 'an ambition' of hers and balancing all this around her rapidly developing musical career. 'I do feel like my two sixth form years have really limited my time' she says , 'I keep thinking I'll have the most creative summer once exams are over' - sounds like this woman has got her head screwed on , right?

When asked where she believed her passion for music came from, the answer was plain to see , 'I was about twelve, my grandparents bought me an acoustic guitar' she continued to say ' I took to it incredibly quickly soon covering songs that everyone and their dogs knew,'  'then came the song writing and the local gigs, madness!'. What with the musical career being as demanding as ever, it requires women in particular to provide guidance to other young budding artists with a lot of pressure being put on household names such as Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry who have both recently been under fire for the way they present themselves to young fans. That being said,  Abby claims she blames the fact 'there's many few of us , Girl Power!' . Abby's personal advice is for 'budding chemists, keep persevering - if you're good at it you're blessed', ' and then to fellow young musicians, I admire you !' - we cant say fairer than that can we?

Festivals are a major part of all of music lovers , however for young artists they are a gateway for further gigs and recognition. Back in 2011, Ed Sheeran Headlined the BBC introducing tent at Glastonbury with his debut single 'A-team' which in coming years has gone on to sell 2.3 million copies in the US alone. This dream is no different for Abby who told ONE20 'I'd snatch the hands off Glastonbury if I was ever selected' and undoubtedly she would follow the pathway of her fellow musicians straight to the 'introducing' stage with her EP.

SHeffield itself is a muscial hive, and the scene is only expanding what with artists like abby causing a riot in local clubs and pubs - the same which multi-platinum sheff band Artic monkeys started out gigging in. Just like alex turner and his lads, we expect abby to be following this same track to success and you heard it here first. Abby’s most recent ep ‘french kiss’ features a collaboration with another fresh artist on the south yorkshire music scene. It won’t be long now until you see this lass shredding the pyramid stage.
